This Koauau is made of New Zealand deer bone & has got a small Maori carving. The Koauau, even though it looks like a simple instrument, is capable of producing many beautiful tones. The music it creates is very emotive & always invokes a picture of the beauty of nature. It is a primitive sound & belongs to an era long before 12 note scale came into existence. The Koauau comes with an instruction sheet of how to play the instrument. This instrument is 205mm in length.
