Ocarina Tenor Weka
Kia ora !!!

Glad to hear you got your ocarina ok, I hope you are enjoying it, creating melodies and delighting local ears with the beautiful stone sound.

Here are some tips for you, to help you use it in a healing manner. It is important, to begin with, to just be with the ocarina, hold it in your hands and give your intentions to the instrument, how you wish to use it.

Then, find the first base note, all fingers covered. Using a strong consistent breath, sit with this note and discover, for yourself, how this note makes you feel, which parts of your body are resonating with the tone, what emotions, if any, does the tone bring up. Go through each note like this, be entirely with the note and discover its essence.

Each tone is a whole universe unto itself.

My personal discovery for each tone goes as such

- 1st note stomach, lower back
- 2nd note chest, mid back
- 3rd note shoulders, upper back, throat
- 4th note jaw, mouth, base of skull
- 5th note nose, cheeks, mid skull
- 6th note eyes, temples
- 7th note forehead
- 8th note crown charka
- 9th note a few centimetres just above head
- 10th note a few centimetres above the 9th note
Ocarina Alto Kea
I discovered these resonances by humming the note corresponding to the one in the ocarina. I find voice work / toning / humming, one of the fastest and most effective ways to explore my inner world, using sound. The ocarina tones will have exactly the same effect, but with outside stimulation. You can combine the two if you wish, humming while playing the ocarina, playing the same tone to strengthen the effect, or playing a different note to create a chordal effect. My advice is just to explore, enjoy and discover exactly what the sound does for you.

Blessings
